I also use eNom. The last transfer I did got stuck trying to retrieve current whois information. I finally had to contact eNom who had to manually push it through.
That had never happened before, and probably won't happen again, but it does highlight the danger of waiting until the last second. Even when everything goes right, I've seen it take longer than 5 days, though not all that often.
It ususally only happens when you're in a hurry.
