i am really losing the confidence in being able to maintain a dedicated server.
last week i ran a paid ad for a couple of positions i needed filled for my company and was a bit disappointed i didnt get any emails. i receive a call last night from someone and they told me they tried sending me a resume but it kept getting returned. i do a test and sure enough the email didnt work. i check in the cpanel for that domain and the email acct which i have used in the past was set as default as it always has been with the name only.
i send in to support.
the reply is that because it was just my name ie chris and not
chris
mydomain.com it wasnt working.
it worked before?
Now tonight i got an email from a customer asking if i got his email earlier this week which i did . i go to reply to him and i see the return email is
yes
mydesignatedservername.mydomainname.com
i dont even think he uses an account with the webhosting i provide from him. all previous email has been from his isp.
i have a ticket on hold for the last month that none of support could fix to return me getting my email from cron about my server activity. Support says the cron is working fine but i dont get my email.
Anyways, i do believe i was told i would get a number to call if i had any problems. I seriously think i do have a problem here but support is only responsive to issues i discover. I have lost all confidence in me being able to manage a dedicated server effectively. This has nothing to do with surpass's maanagement of servers. BUT... i would appreciate to call someone or they call me one time only to try and power close me on retaining my dedicated server. i only have 22 accounts on it so it isnt a profit thing for me... but i do feel i had better reassurance when i had my reseller acct.
Please.. there is no need to add posts suggesting i contact support via helpdesk. i tried that silly aim messenger thing on my last preformatted harddrive and found that to be a waste of time with nooone online and a program i detested having on my computer.
