Ok, I see. They are different. Your cpanel username is your domain name truncated usually. Like, what is the temporary url? If you look, it will be something like ipaddress/~myusername
That part of it is your username. The part after the tilda ~.
Your password and username should have been included in the Welcome Email with your nameserver, temporary address, and other instructions about your site and account. When did you sign up for your account? If it was tonight, your welcome email probably hasn't been sent yet because your account may not even be setup yet. You normally get two emails..a confirmation email, and a welcome email with your details.
