Some sites are for ages 18 + but we are promoting indirectly sites to all ages when we do this in this forum. i was wondering if there was a mod for vbulletin here not unlike hiding email that admins have access to but not to general public. more of a suggestion than anything.
thanks again
you've raised a serious question, i'll give you a serious answer.

we ask users to identify their server name and URL in their signature for several reasons.
1)promotes community - other posters can see what kind of sites people have made
2)makes it easy for any admins to do a spot check on the site if the poster indicates there are access issues - this saves them time. there are nearly 10,000 customers and hundreds of servers. asking them where they are takes time, putting it in the signature already answers the first question we always have.

now to the last part about the 18+
something like less than 1 percent of all sites surpass hosts adult material. among that 1 percent I know of only 2 who put their site name in their signature. that's 2 out of nearly 10,000. i could be wrong - and i see your point that it might be possible to think we are by this policy unwittingly promoting adult material, but as for me, I do not believe that's the case.

in the end it does a lot more good than harm by having the signatures.
