wildrice, like snakeman recommended, I would ask your forum members for advice.... i.e. send a mailer out to your users that asks them basic questions like what browser do you use, what do you like most about the site, what don't you like about the site, what new features would you like to see on the site? Simple questions like that. Your direct audience is going to give you more valuable/usefull information regarding how the site works and looks because they are the ones 'actually' using the site.
Like also mentioned above, you are talking about issues with a "beta" browser. Wait till the official release of the browser before you start making adaptations, because the "beta" version is constantly changing.
Furthermore, you mentioned that your users aren't very computer savy, that's fine, they can still give you valuable input because they actually frequent and use your website. And given their lack of computer literacy, they probably don't keep up to date with the latest browsers, not to mention the option to 'test' a "beta" browser.
