It is running a (static) Movable Type blog about my geeky life and after some more research it seems that the track back CGI script of MT can be a resource hog.

The annoying thing is that I don't get any valid track backs on my blog so I have stopped looking at it but I know it gets hammered by spamming bots.

An advise to other MT users, disable track-backs!

It is all in the merciful hands of Surpass.

It would be fairly easy for me to remove the offending CGI script but I would not know how to limit the resource hog created by the static JPG.

I have requested a back-up or access to FTP. It would be very tragic but if the matter cannot be resolved I will be forced to move.
