Speaking of Google Apps, I have a dedicated server, and I am seriously considering switching my email to Google Applications. I really like the Gmail application, plus it's always a good thing to diversify where my data is being stored, accessed, etc. I have a few questions that maybe one of you experts can answer (I am a total newbie when it comes to how DNS works, although I've been learning).

I've changed the MX entry in WHM for the domain that I am testing, and email seems to go to and from google without a hitch, so that's good. But what I'm wondering is if my server goes down, will email continue getting routed to Google's servers? I can't seem to figure out if the DNS Record that has the MX Entry is somehow propagated or if the MX Entry is provided by my server each time. If it's the latter, then is there any way to have set it up so email gets routed to google even if the server is down?

Thanks a bunch!!! (and please excuse my lack of knowledge on the subject ;-) )
