Email client not connecting to SMTP to send

My email client, Thunderbird, is not sending an email for me. The error says that : Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to SMTP sever mail.kdanieli.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMPTP connections. Please verify that your SMTP server setting is correct and try again, or else contact your ntwork admin.

I am traveling. My Outgoing SMTP server is set to my surpass mail domain.

port is 25. i also tried 587.

I realize that this is probably due to me being on a temporarily different ISP that is perhaps blocking 25?

Is there a universal setting I can make in Tbird so that it will work at home and while away?
