I'm honestly not sure if you'd see any difference between surpass and HostDime. I would somewhat think so.

Although I can't speak out of experience with HostDime, I can speak for Surpass. These guys offer you some pretty spiffy services and support for the prices that you would pay. I compared some of their dedicated offers to a well known hosting provider, and it would have costed me a few thousand more than what I'm paying at Surpass. So I believe these guys on top of it concerning the competitiveness<sp?>.

Support...Surpass brings a whole new level to the topic. You will probably never find a hosting company that provides you so many resources of support, especially if you're a dedicated user. These guys are generally on top of things. I've yet to bring them an issue that they haven't been able to resolve. I'm still looking for something that will give them the "challenge" that they request. I think you'd definately be satisfied with Surpass Hosting for your dedicated needs. Give them a try, or browse the forums to see what other people think.
