I've always been around people who smoked. So, it really doesn't bug me that much. Unless i'm eating or something, then I think it's kind of rude to just light up. I don't smoke though. But probably all the time around smokers, that good ol' second hand smoke didn't help any.

You, as a human, have the right to be completely secure in your person. That means if you want to inhale cigarettes or ride a motorcycle without a helmet, fine. I, being a separate individual, have absolutely no right to tell you what to do, so long as your actions do not deprive me of my right to my life.

Further, if you own a restraunt, and want to allow people to smoke, that is your choice. Just as it is the choice of persons who Do NOT smoke to go to a restraunt that is smoke free.

There is NOT ONE WIT of real scientific evidence to show that "2nd hand" smoke is more than a temporary irritant.

For smokers, it's the inhalation of the hot smoke that causes the damage to the lungs. Even through a 'filter' there is material deposited there that is bad for you. on THIS, and this only, there is true scientific data.

It is possible to smoke without inhaling. George Burns smoked 4-7 cigars PER DAY (and he smoked BIG ONES) from age 14 until he died at age 100. That FACT is more factual than 99% of the data used to say "2nd hand smoke causes problems". His secret? No Inhaling.

But before I drift further afield... this topic was about 2nd hand smoke. It's an irritant. Yes. And it irritates some people more than others. But it won't kill you. And, it's your choice to expose yourself. Your government should not choose for you....
