Secondhand Smoke Sucks
I haven't been around smoking people in quite a while. And usually it was a classmate wanting to have a chat outside, and the smoke hardly ever drifted in my direction. My clean, healthy lungs often reward me for not polluting them.
Today I sitting in a room with four smokers. And unlike most that go outside to smoke, I was with four indoor smokers. After 4 hours, my lungs feel stressed, throat hurts and I can still smell and taste the smoke. I even cough occasionally because of it. It reminds me of all the children and other non-smokers that are exposed to this everyday. It also makes me glad Canada has fairly strong smoking bans for public and workplace facilities. If you smoke, please, please remember that it can greatly affect someone with healthy lungs even after a short time of exposure. I realize you have every legal right to smoke, but you must consider how it may affect the health of others. I can only imagine how bad I'd be feeling if I has asthma. |

I personally hate smoking bans that they recently put in place in Colorado. I don't smoke, but I don't think people should be limited as much as they have. You are now not allowed to smoke in or near any places like restaurants, etc. Not even restaurants with a nice, separate smoking section. I don't smoke, and don't think people should smoke, but it's not my place to tell them where they can and can't kill themselves.
Plus, now all of the crazy people that used to show up to Denny's don't anymore, because they can't smoke there. They were a very big entertainment!

Too many freedoms are being limited! If you keep making laws like this, telling people what they can and can't do with their lives, then the future will become a reality. And in the future, tacos are illegal. You will make tacos illegal! And I think we all know why..
Anti taco legislation!

Yea there are to many laws and rules. They should just let me bite smokers on site "for the sake of because" or beat them with a big stick. Yea that would be more fun than laws and rules.

You know those little plexi glass rooms at airports where people go to smoke? I've often wondered what could be done to get a point across to them. Pump that little room with more smoke so they can't see each other (or maybe they'd like it)? Put in a disco ball and play Neil Diamond? Make the floor sticky with tar? You know, what would PETA do if they were also PUTS (people for the unethical treatment of smokers)?
