Yeah, last I heard from my buddy in Fillmore, it's getting really rough around his area, too.

Monday was horrendous, i had to leave work early to go help my brother who was in a Mandatory Evacuation zone in Santa Clarita (Valencia).

I also went to help out a friend in Stevenson's Ranch the same day. The fire was literally 100 feet away.

Now the rest of my family is trapped in different parts of San Diego. It is VERY VERY VERY bad. This is the worst fire season I've ever seen in California. The whole state is just engulfed in flames.

I was born in el toro, cali and lived there for about 8 years. We had some pretty bad fires when I was there (no where near me luckily) but nothing like this. My dads friend (the stamp guy) lives in irvine but I think his area is ok for now.

Sorry, my fire photo killed the thread.

Here's a nice happy Joshua tree forest photo:

It was a little unnerving when it first started because we weren't sure exactly where it was. That's why we got in the car and drove towards the smokes. Sounds kind of crazy, but it took the news (radio) about 45 minutes to report on it.

My town got close to burning a few years ago in the Hayman fire. We evacuated and everything. it sucked because I was out of the state when the evac started, and when I got back all of my stuff was still at the house.
