New Design, wanted opinions :).
Hi all, was just looking for opinions on the new design of www.mi6labs.co.uk . I'm rather happy with it
(Clean and simple for once heh ). Some people say the injection is rather off putting but not sure what to replace with (still want to make it look like a laboratory :hrrm: ). All criticism is taken and considered .GB.

The concept/branding is neat enough, but I agree with it being plain. If you're going predominantly white, the norm is to have more subtle detail implied through shadows and lighter borders.
The markup is also really dated. I'm a big standards guy, so I think for something this simple it might be time to think about some tableless CSS/XHTML markup instead of nonvalidating (I'm assuming) HTML 4.x. Justin

Eh right....first of all thanks for your replies.
Now i'm assumeing you all don't like the design (here's where i say ****!). Oh well i sent an e-mail to cfstudio some time ago so no reply....looks like i need to design myself (again). Justin i don't really know anything else than HTML and PHP . But i'll look into XHTML and CSS [i know a little CSS nav bar colours etc. =p].GB.

Hello, I think that with a few adjustments, you can change it from an empty-looking site into a more professional design. First, I would modify the logo and link buttons to without having shadows and being aliased. That would make it much cleaner, since it looks like it's a pixel font anyway. Then, perhaps move the introductory text down to make it vertically aligned in the center with the image on the left. Then maybe you want to add a background color for the text (like a box around it - maybe another cool color like light blue or something), which would make the white space less significant. Anyway, just my two cents of advice. Good luck.

Ghostbone -Better navigation, and a little more data on the first page. The hypodermic is not 'enticing' by the way... i have a major fear of them things....*yech* and had to cover the left side of my screen so I could read the rest....

Hey the design isn't too bad, but one thing I have to mention about is the links. Realistically they are hard to see and might be trouble for some clients, especially computer-illiterate ones.
I agree that the injection is a little put off-ish, maybe you can change it to a doctor in a labcoat?

I like the simplicity, but you could go with something with a bit more colour, and you definately need more text or at least bigger text on the front page. And the links are kinda hidden, being so small. But I guess it doesn't help that I'm running in a really big screen resolution, so half of what I see that's white, most people won't see anyways.
