Which gallery is easiest to skin?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on a project that will include some sort of gallery. The only problem is, I want my gallery to look exactly like the other pages on the website. Which gallery is easiest to skin: Gallery, Coppermine, or 4images? And when I mean skin, I mean, completely new layout, ability to delete features you don't like (like a link to "login" that all visitors can see).

I wanted something nice and simple, so I went with Gallery. My friend has one, and I like the way it works. It's not too complicated; it doesn't have ten thousand useless features, or anything like that. I thought, looking so simple, it would be simple to skin it. And now I'm completely fed up with it. It's got layout files, html_wrap files, the actual php files, and I don't know what does what. I can't find certain pieces in the code so that I can mess with them. It's driving me up the wall.

Are all galleries just as hard to modify, or is there something out there easier than Gallery? I'm not very well versed in PHP, but I managed to modify my forum just fine.

I am a HUGE fan of singapore (http://singapore.sourceforge.net). I didn't use it in my latest site because I wanted my gallery to be integrated into my news publishing system, but if you're just looking for a standalone gallery script singapore is awesome.

Pure CSS/XHTML, so you should have absolutely no problem messing with the layout/presentation.

Gallery is a worthy foe. I use it and like it, but if you're doing anything really trick it takes some poking. Open source doens't mean good documentation.

I suggest either try posting a more specific question about what you are trying to do, or try the gallery forum.

So is coppermine, but the only reason I used 4images was because it was able to link to images on another server.

Other gallery scripts could not.
