Don't you need to load SATA drivers off a floppy during install?

It starts like this.

Abit NF7-S motherboard
AMD 2500+

So i push the power button.. and nothing.. nada... BAH!

I ended up, after about 7 hours, reseating the CPU, and it worked. :angry7:

So, now you have to try to get this stupid thing to realize it needs to look for the hard drive on Sata not ATA....

You know how your supposed to press f6 at the beginning? Well, I did that, but then had to use a floppy. No floppy in this new compy! So i had to open another comp, take out an old floppy drive, put it in. I actually put it in backwards the first time.. stupid thing... :crash:

So then I have to go thru the setup process all over again, with the floppy, and use 3rd party drivers. Getting somewhere right?

Windows reboots so it can finish installation. But instead it goes to the CD Boot, and starts the process all over again! no no no! So i went into the BIOS and switched the boot devices around so it looked at "serial ata" first.. then it gives me this windows can not boot because of hardware config error.. so i google it, and come up with a document about fixing the boot.ini with the repair tool. So then i fix up the boot, reboot, and now.. well no its supposed to work. I'm afraid to send it off with my friend in fear of it blowing up!:confused3

Was this before I suggested reseating everything or after? :lol3:
