it's a good flick, little bit on the gore side, but the ending is the best of any film in years. anyone else see it? how about the grudge? if you post, please no spoilers. |

Yea, I went to it last night as well. Please, to anyone who has seen it, don't post spoiler's in this thread.
Anyway, it was one of the weirdest movies I've ever seen. It was one of those things that just make you think, "Wow, is there actually people out there like that?". I agree though, the ending was incredible, and the whole movie was well thought out in terms of how they made everything work (From cutscenes, to camera angles, and when they played certain clips). I'd suggest it to anyone who is a fan of crime shows like CSI or Law and Order. Sam, I also saw the grudge (Last week I think?)...I'd have to say that it didn't live up to it's somewhat predacessor, The Ring. Half of the time I didn't know what was going on from all the flashbacks, and a lot of the movie didn't even makes sense in terms of reality and practicality(I know it's a fictional movie, but you get what I mean). It's scare factor was pretty high towards the first half of the movie though.

ok im with you on Saw.
as for grudge, it's definitely out there. its hard not to think of it as a Ring cousin. i think though its really independent of that and the similiarities trace back to the fact that they are both examples of classic japanese horror films. a real strength of the Ring is that the story was linear. the Grudge? flash forward, flash back, flash sideways , flash upside down. i did like the Grudge though. |

Have not seen Saw, have not seen Grudge, have not seen the Ring. Will probably not see any of them, unless some freak accident occurs...

i'm going to buy Ju-On on November 9th, which is the original version of the Grudge. I heard the new one sucks though.
The Ring, I thought was crap. I almost fell asleep several times and almost gave up on the movie towards the middle. Hopefully his other movie Ju-On will be much better. Next on my list: Versus, Dead or Alive, and anything else on my amazon.com wishlist. |

I must agree with DJ on the ring. It was quite boring.
I haven't seen Saw yet, though maybe later this week (tonight maybe?). I hated the grudge. It's SMG as the star though, so how good can it really be? She's only an actor due to teenage boys. I can't stand her. anyway, the ring and the grudge was junk. Saw seems like something that should be good. did I read that correctly earlier though? Is this a cross between horror and 'mystery'? Meaning, it's from the perspective of someone trying to solve the crime(s). - Dale?
