[Answered] Transferring Site
Hey!!
Has anyone transferred their site from 100webspace.com to Surpass? It is a Joomla website that one of clients is switching over to. I'm trying to help him out and can't seem to figure it out. I tried exporting the database from 100webspace and saving it and then importing to the account at Surpass but that doesn't work either. And they don't use cPanel so that's a problem as well. And I have no working knowledge with Joomla either. However, the export/import worked after I edited/deleted the the SQL file but it broke the Joomla website. So I have no idea what to do! Help! |

Joomla should have a config.php file of some type, or you can specify the settings inside of an admin panel.
You need to make sure the config has the correct database name and correct username and password. Since we have cPanel and they didn't, the database has to be in format username_database and the username has to be the same. Of course I realize you may have already checked this... but just making sure. If you double check all the users/passwords and file paths, it should work. Joomla is Joomla.. no matter where it's hosted. |
