Open Windows?

Saw this on engadget and thought it was extremely interesting:

http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/p...abilityPR.mspx

Not exactly going completely open source, but its a step forward

Well, this is certainly a step in the right direction for Microsoft. MSDN is a great resource for [windows] programmers and giving everyone access to some of the "secrets" of Windows and its major applications like Office 2007 can only result in even better applications being developed for Windows.

As someone once said, we live in interesting times...
