Suggestions for simple document management system

Hi,

I am in a situation where I have a few gigabytes worth of data on my server that's becoming a bit large to manage on my own. What I would like is a simple system geared toward file management. I don't need anything fancy and don't want anything difficult to setup. I just need something that can take the directory where I have these existing files and organize it in a logical way so users can find and download files, as well as upload files via a simple web interface. Check-in/check-out not needed. A suggestion for something that's included in Fantastico would be awesome, but anything that would accomplish this goal, as long as it's easy to install, would be welcome. I tend to have problems installing php things though. I would be willing to pay if the software and price is right.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Sam

What kind of files are they? We can find an application better if we know.

This is a nice program for organizing files, but it's not automatic. Montala - ResourceSpace: Open Source Digital Asset Management (DAM) (I've used it for more than images)

One that is automatic is this, but it is just for images.
Lussumo Filebrowser - Now with awesome thumbnailing power

Hey Kayla, thanks a lot for the reply. ResourceSpace looks nice and I was impressed with myself because I actually managed to get it installed! I think that will be perfect, actually, thanks!

Hey Kayla, would ResourceSpace work with PDFs and Word documents perhaps?
I was working with a Hotel Broker a while ago, and he wanted to have something where he could upload PDFs and documents, organize them, and have clients login to view it all. Would this possibly be capable to do accomplish that by any chance? I figured I'd ask you first, before wasting time installing it all and then playing with for hours even after I fing out it won't accomplish what I need it to. I have a habit of playing with things! =)
