BlogBackupOnline.com

Anyone use BlogBackupOnline.com? I'm looking at their prices (https://www.blogbackuponline.com/techrigy/pricing.aspx), and I'm tempted to try out their free account.

I'm just wondering, if its worth trying, or if I should just keep on backing up the old fashion way.

Sounds like a ripoff to me. I'd just keep using the old-fashioned way as you put it.

If you have your blog on a Surpass account, your server has backups, and it is not hard to make a backup in cPanel. Not to mention you can even use a cronjob to automate full backups. Can't really go wrong with the free one, but I wouldn't pay for a service that you're already paying for (hosting, which includes backups).

I'm not really understanding that service. If you already have a web hosting account, you have backups. There are tools/plugins available that backup your blog plus cPanel features to back up the entire site.

Fury is right.

I think that's just an easy money making scam to make people think creating backups are difficult. I mean, a lot of people who have blogs might not be web gurus... A lot of the blog software out there doesn't require geniuses to install... but...*gasp* the backup... if you don't know any better you'd go spend the money because the site said b/u's are "complicated and tedious. "

HAHA! That's so useless. I bet it's more complicated than just creating a cpanel backup, or just copying your files and downloading your SQL data manually.

Yeah, if anything, I would have gotten the free plan... but with only 5 mb of space, that really doesn't sound like much. I wouldn't spend the money to have someone back up my blog for me.

Looks like I'll be passing on this. Anywho... I got that site off of Digg today from the following article... 15 Killer Web Apps That’ll Rock Your World | Nethackz.com Maybe someone here will find something useful on there.

Most of those look mediocre at best.
