Re: PHPsuexec to be implemented on new servers

I have added the user to my pnphpnuke database which does allow a connection to the site. However, I am recieving an error of Session initialisation failed when I attempt to select into any link. Would this likely be a result of any of these changes or more likely as a result of the server upgrading to a new version of mysql which I was informed of today?

Hello,

I own a dedi server. How do I found out that phpsuexec has been implemented?

Several of my clients are getting 500 error, and I solved the issue by tweaking their htaccess and add php.ini.

Thanks,

Ed

Hi,

We only install phpsuexec on our shared and reseller servers. If you would like it on your dedicated server, we can do it for you. If you open a helpdesk ticket regarding it, it can be done within the next 24 hours.

Is there a smooth way to prepare people for this change on other servers prior to the day when the scripts just no longer work? From what I've seen in my tests, mod_php4 has no knowledge of php.ini, so we can't make the change ahead of time, which makes it a "check your site each day to see if everything now blows up". If it does, your server has been reconfigured and you need to go edit your .htaccess file(s). I didn't know about pass51's timing until multiple sites on it began failing early this morning. Any thoughts on how to better prevent downtime for our customers and prepare them better for the switch?

That server had phpsuexec in the beginning but it seemed that someone recompiled it unfortunately without enabling it again since this is a new policy we have. The server now has a message upon login to remember to enable phpsuexec and we are still hammering this new policy into our techs. So I apologize about what happened there.

For other servers that have never had phpsuexec enabled before, we post an advanced warning in the server announcements board. This has been done for Sea, Gotti, Yesenia if you'd like to check. Our newer servers unfortunately have had phpsuxec on and off a couple of times while our staff is getting used to this change, I think now it's going well and there won't be anymore problems.

I will add an option on the order page to make sure this can be requested from the beginning.
