This is a2zwww on farciert.....Could I please have some support. Some of my websites are down due to sudden implementation of PHPsuexec on Farciert. I have been sending messages on ticketID BKB-199527. Python has also stopped working.

Kevin,

I am checking this for you.
We have added PHP5 but phpsuexec is supposed to be on a set schedule (which will be released soon). Thanks for posting.

Thanks Kayla..I really need some help. I just found a cgi script in another part of Surmunity, installed and ran it. But I get the same problem on some of the folders I need to change from 777 to 755. It just won't do it. 3 different ways now...all fail.

Put this into a php.ini file in the folder where the upload script is:
upload_max_filesize = 2M

Though I think that 2mb is the default, so you should have to have that really unless you need it bigger.

Can anyone, Kayla perhaps, say when phpsuexec is going to be implemented on pass43? I need to get a site set up for da family and intend on using SMF for the forum but don't want to have to make changes as soon as I get it setup if phpsuexec is going to be installed any time soon.

Thanks,
SnakeMan

"Even scarier, ha.ckers.org reports that the very same information can be used by hackers for penetration testing. Suppose PHP is being run as a module, not a CGI. One of the other virtual hosts on your server is running an old exploitable version of PHPbb — a notoriously insecure web application; its historical vulnerabilities are listed here. This is great information, as a hacker could compromise the PHPbb installation and gain access to your data by extension.

So, having different IPs — even within the same range, makes it much harder to form any conclusions from the available information. Two sites on consecutive IPs may be related, but they also may not be. They may be on the same machine, but they also may not be. That's one of the reasons why I prefer having my own dedicated IPs. I'd also avoid any shared hosting that runs PHP as a module"
