You cannot get a free second account just because you are an existing client.

This is why this is called a "promotion"...

You have missed the idea here...

Re: existing Account

Well this new promotion is obviously better than what we signed up for previously. Look at it this way. If I had an account for about 2-3years and get 10GB of storage space and 250GB of bandwidth for $15 a month... With this promotion I will have 2 of these accounts so its like getting 20 GB of storage and 500 GB of bandwidth for the same $15 a month. This is for new clients... but your loyal current members who have been paying for the past few years do not receive any upgrade like that for all their years of payment. True we are paying the amount we have been paying for the service we signed up for. Now for that same amount someone new is getting 2x a better deal. I can understand a "Promotion" where if they sign up they will have a discounted price for the life of the account or extra storage space or bandwidth. To have a whole new account and double what we are getting for the same exact price for the life of the account is truly unfair.

I still fail to see how it is unfair.

If you need another account, this offer is open to you. You're getting more already than you originally signed up for. This is a promotion.. A temporary thing, to get more people to sign up.

ok, so if I decide to sign up for this promotion and cancel my current account I'll get 2 accounts for the same price as 1 account for the life of the account. Then I would just have to re-setup all my current sub accounts... Now that doesn't make too much sense. Why would it be so hard to just get an additional account instead of going through all that? The end result is the same

OK I'll take a stab at this.

This promotion is to gain new customers. Not give favors to existing clients.

Shared and reseller folks just got a real good deal with expanded storage and and bandwidth. Also addon domains were expanded to 10.

Plans are being worked on for something for the OC plans from what is said in the grape vine.

Surpass dose there clients very good and if you don't believe that just do a little looking around for yourself.

See, you are totally wrong. 3 years ago you were paying 15$ for 7GB of diskspace and maybe 75GB of Bandwidth. What you havent seemed to grasp is that free of charge, surpass has offered to increase all existing customers to 10GB of space and 250GB of bandwidtrh for that same 15$ a month you were paying for 3 years ago.

so ya know what, its more like you should be complaining about not getting an extra account at 7GB of diskspace and 75GB of transfer, because according to you they havent given you that free upgrade, or more likely yet, you havent been following and didnt follow the procedures to ask for it. and thats your fault.

might wanna rethink your position, because while the upgrades to not meet the full equivlant of another account, they have increased shared diskspace by about 33% and bandwidth by over 125% (FOR FREE)

Besides, you are free to open a new account should you really need that space that badly...

Thanks for clearing that up. Thank you Surpass for the free upgrade and great service. I don't mean to sound ungrateful.
A new client today will get 10GB of space and 250GB of bandwidth times 2. So thats really 20GB of space and 500 GB of bandwidth. So a new client is getting double of what some of us with the upgrade have for the same dollar amount. For the life of that account. Now the existing clients are getting only half of that even though we will be paying the same exact price. I understand the promotion is to gain NEW clients. These new clients are getting 2x as much of a better deal than your current clients. I can understand a promotion where you offered the new clients a break in the price or something like that. Instead you are basically giving them 20GB space and 500GB bandwidth for $15 while those who have been with you are paying the same $15 and get only half of that. So it almost feels like we are losing out.

I've had several issues with surpass. My sites at one point were up and down and up and down... I was losing clients and money. Finally, they moved me to a different server and that resolved the issue. Anyway, I stuck with surpass due to their professionalism, speed of service and efforts to correct the problem. So I am very grateful since they finally moved me to another server. Honestly, I don't really need much more space or bandwidth at the moment. It would be nice to have that option a little later without having to pay extra for it. What you are missing is that even though we have been upgrade depending on our plans... a new client is still paying the same exact amount as we are paying and is getting 2x as much from surpass. Your long loyal clients may have been upgraded to what is now a standard price option according to your new revised plans. If that didn't happen I think many of the current members would be fighting for it... The main issue I am having with all of this is that I am paying $15 for only half of what a new client gets. It feels like it is opposite. I think if someone has been with you for many years they should get something like that. A new client should get a brief discount or something similar. Giving someone that has been with you 5, 10, 15...years a free account would more or less seem like the right thing to do instead of upgrading them to your current standard plan options.

Anyway, I just felt the need to add my 2 cents. Don't know if Surpass would be so kind to give me a free account too but it would be nice. I really just want to personally thank Surpass for the years of service. It has been a great ride and look forward to many more years.
Cheers

Your loyalty just got you 10 addon domains and a bandwidth/space increase. You wouldn't buy a box of cereal from a grocery store, then take it back when they have a two for one sale to try to get a free box. What you described is the same thing as this, just a promotion. The only difference is that it's discounted to nothing.

Who's stopping you from buying a new plan and getting 20gb and 500gb for $15 a month? Nobody. You can still profit from this offer. Anyone can. People should stop looking at what others can get and focus on what you have yourself. If you happen to need more space at the moment, Surpass is offering you a great deal. And if you' don't need more space then I don't even know what the problem is. Don't be greedy, just because you sniff an oppurtunity to get more for less. It's a temporary price stunt. You can decide to go with it or let it pass by, just like every other client, new or existing ones.
