Technically they aren't encouraging this type of "upgrading."

So, I don't know if support would do this; I don't think so because the promo clearly states a domain already hosted at Surpass can't be used but you could put in a ticket to see.

So that looks like no domain name changes for free accounts until Jan/07

Guess some of us just don't know how to read... I did remember something like this being stated in the thread but couldn't find it by searching the forum. Thanks, Geoff. Maybe David should add that to his entry in the FAQ, although now everyone is probably clear on this.

Some of us do read but just don't expect that rules would be changed after the game is started.

From the FAQ:

I'd say this is a little confusing and again I'd like to get a confirmation from Kayla or Emmanuel on this issue. As far as I understood, we could use a dummy domain and later change it. It wasn't part of the rules before that domain name changes could not be done until January 2007.

You have 3 Parked domains, so I don't see what the big deal is...

so if you had fakedomain.com and registered realdomain.com then you can park realdomain.com and use that without any hassel...

ya you can still use a fake domain to register with surpass, but you wont be able to change it to a real one until January

but as stated, like all the plans come with plenty of add-on domains and what not... use them until then

how does it work?

I bought 2 new domains (not for me, but for my mom, and a church).

Do I buy the 2 hosting accounts, put the promo coupon code in both times, and then wait for instructions?

or do I buy 1 hosting account with the promo coupon code, and wait for instructions? I am kind of lost on the process to do this?
