Hi,

If you have a shared account you will have to sign up again on the website so that you can be placed on a reseller server.

Then open a ticket in the Sales Division at https://desk.surpasshosting.com so that your previous files can be transferred to the reseller server. (Then they cancel the shared plan, refund, etc.)

Thanks Kayla.
How about "what will happen to existing domain name and its content...will I have to create an account in WHM using old domain name address AND MOVE the content manually?"

I guess I should have read this thread first.

Kayla,

I made a major booboo. I signed up for a reseller account because I have multiple domain names I need to manage. I sent in a ticket to sales to cancel my shared account, not understanding it would be against the policy for the promo. Is there a way I can fix this? I only have a couple months left on the shared plan so I guess I can just let it go and not renew it.

I also marked new client instead of adding this to my exsisting plan since i wanted to cancel it. *sigh* I am having a major blonde day today. Nothing is going right. Any help to fix this I would greatly appreciate.

CC- actually this is ok. This is considered an upgrade. When you upgrade to reseller you have to sign up again on the website, as you've done already, because your account has to be placed on a reseller only server.

Then we move your files over from your shared account for you, and cancel the shared account. Just stay on your current ticket and it will be sorted out fine.

At first we were not allowing this, but then we ended up changing the rules.

The major thing that is not allowed is canceling an existing account, to sign up for the same exact plan again for that same domain.

I'm on the OC5 right now. My usages with it don't even scratch the surface as far as space or bandwidth go (very minimal). So although upgrading to something else with this promotion would give me a TON of extra space and bandwidth, I don't need it. The only reason I would upgrade with this promotion would be to get the included 10 add-on domains... because the OC5 currently only allows 2 (which I've used up both).

So my question: Although I wouldn't be paying surpass any extra money, wouldn't it be easier for everyone if I was just allowed the 10 add-ons domains that the other shared accounts have included and not have to bug the sales department with upgrading (paying more money, getting refunded, etc.)?

Thanks!
