I do see the server page for Single CPU servers: http://www.surpasshosting.com/content/dedicated/single/

But I DON'T see the changes, I have what would be a SP 10 server, Pentium 4 - 2.4 GHz- 1 GB - 120GB space - 1.5TB Monthly - $115 Monthly and it's still exactly the same price etc.

Most of the other plans still have only 1 TB bandwidth (and I say only because the power shared plan has almost 2)

I do see there are many NEW servers being offered, (and we all agree that if a restaurant offers new plates they aren't "upgrading" their rations, right?) like say SP 11, I'd much prefer having a backup drive than the extra RAM I actually don't need... but then moving would be major trouble. I don't know, maybe I'm asking for too much and maybe the page isn't ready yet, but I find it to be still the same.

The prices for some of the lower models are definately lower... and they are now offering Quad-Core. Like mentioned in other threads they just announced this and are constantly adding and enhancing their line-up so we'll just have to wait for them to be added to the website. But you don't have to wait to inquire or even buy a dedicated server. All you have to do is drop a ticket off at http://desk.surpasshosting.com for the sales department.

Just got a question about the new dedi packages. I got my dedi on August 2006, it is a celeron 1.7ghz, 1gb ram, dual 40bg hard disks and 1200gb b/width per month and it cost me 120dollars a month this new package:

SP2 1.7 GHz 1GB 80GB 1TB Monthly $90 Monthly

is practically the same as mine so can i expect to be paying 30 bucks less each month? I would like to keep my dual 40gb hard drives though one for backup purpases, i dont think i will ever need more than 40gb for normal file space anyway.

$30 less a month would be helpfull, then again i could keep paying $120 and maybe get a better processor? if thats how its going to work.

I will take a look at the new dedi packages more closely, if theres something i really like i may even pay a bit more to get a better server, i will see what i can afford.

1. Actually, it is 1.5tb bandwidth, it was upgraded in June 2006. Since you have the server before the new change now, you still have the 1.5tb.
2. Are you sure dual 40s? The lowest of the plans was 80gbs, so you'd have dual 80gbs..
3. No previous plans, unless specified, will be upgraded. You must reorder.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Brandon, it's just I was just expecting an upgrade in bandwidth... if bandwidth and space are the reason why people mentioned they (I included actually) were thinking of going back to shared or reseller plans, then that was the obvious change, I assumed.

Still, moving to a new dedicated server wouldn't be quite problematic? when I moved from shared to dedicated (Eman was wonderful to me, so many thanks to him) they could only move 10 GB of the site via the control panel and I had to upload about 20 GB, how do I know it won't be the same now (took me 2 weeks non-stop)? Do they copy the files from the server's drive and then get them onto the new server or...? Because I thought that they would do that when you moved to dedicated but I am always assuming things it seems... :-(

Hey, So I have 1.5TB of bandwidth? thats cool i didnt know it was upgraded.

Yea i have dual 40GB drives it was kind of a custom plan setup by eman after i had to move from VPS.

What do you mean i have to re-order? cant tehy just upgrade me or move me onto a new server? The way I see it I can either save a few bucks each month by getting a similar server(if not identical) to the one i have or pay roughly the same amount as im paying now and get a slightly better server.

I dont want to be paying $120 a month when a new customer can signup and get practically the same deal for $90, know what i mean?
