Waited until the last minute, but I finally caved.

Just ordered the P4 special. A couple of RAM upgrades later today, and I'll be set (and broke).

Thanks Surpass!!

Please tell it.
Because I also just took the max plan, and it is 0$ In the "Signup Receipt" mail there is:

But there is no link, because I do not have to pay anything, right?
So i will geht all the account information including username, password, and IP address within 48hours, right?
Can I also just use it as FT Space for my files?
And I took the 3 option (I will update my nameservers only.) and wrote in an domain which does not exist at the moment, but I will buy it at yahoo the next days, is this a problem?

Can I also
cancel the plan immediately after I recieved the account information, so I do not forget to cancel the plan after a year? Otherwise I would like to have it for 2 years, of course in the second year I would pay something, but not 250$!, maybe 50, but I also do not need that big space of 800 GB, 200 would be enough...

Thanks a lot!
Regards and sorry for my bad english
If you sign up for a higher plan then you may need, enjoy the flexability of having higher limits. We would like to handle any downgrades following the promotions expiration in 2/2008. Please enjoy the higher plan limits.

If you received an invoice for 0.00 your billing account will be changed upon activation, you will need to login and pay the invoice for $1.00 to avoid suspension by the billing system.

If you wish to cancel once the year is up, you may do this. If you wish to cancel prior that is fine also. There are no hidden gimmick or tricks and we will not force you to continue with this account after the year is over. If you love our service then we hope you will stay

This account is not intended for file storage. Please read our TOS on the promotion to avoid suspension.

No, you will not be able to cancel right after you signup, you will need to wait until the year is over. You will be sent invoices prior to the next payment is due.

Should I go ahead and submit the order? Will it be adjusted to $1?
Please contact the sales staff to adjust your order or await activation and check your billing account for a new invoice for $1

Correct, as long as you own the domain names you can add these additional domain names onto your account.
If you do not own additional domain names you may visit surpassdomains.com to register and have all of your eggs in the same basket.

Feel free to chime into this post with any benefits you have from hosting your sites and software on the dedicated platform vs shared.

TIA

The benefits are wonderful, to begin with, you have like 100% freedom to run the server as you wish. Want to install that IceCast or IRCd? go right ahead lol. Want to run that database heavy forum with 600 users on at the same time... well, you wont get suspended for resource abuse lol. Cant code worth shit? again, wont get canned for resource abuse lol. Wanna make some money? sell some space/bandwidth to recoup costs

well, i think whats more important for Surpass is the retention rate of those "1337" new members. If say, 100% stays with Surpass and commit to even the cheapest hosting plan, then the campaign is successful beyond comparison, but the reality is most likely that probably only a certain percentage stays. So I wonder what the minimal retention rate needed for a reasonable profit margin is?
