Back on February 10 I went ahead and signed up for the one love promotion. I was charged $3.21 which was the $1 for the year hosting plus some taxes, I assume. Now, a few days ago, I got an invoice for $60 which is the full price for a year of hosting. Now, I sent in a ticket and they told me that I did not actually enter the promotion code when I signed up, and as the promotion was over, that I had to pay the full amount.
Wait a second surpass... If I payed $3.21 on February 10, one can only assume that it was either the one love promotion or a partial payment for the month of February since the month was half over. However, a month later, I was charged the $60 which can only be the cost of a full year of hosting. Now, if we assume the $3.21 was a partial monthly bill for February, why would I be getting charged a yearly plan a month later? That rules that idea out. So, I'd like to know why I am being called a liar and being charged $60 instead of nothing, as I already payed for the one love promotion. Its been a few days since I've heard from support, and its the last day for me to pay the 'supposed' invoice until my account is disabled. I'm wondering, where has the excellent support team gone? |

What I would guess happened is that when you signed up, there was a space in the coupon code. Surpass bills everything on the first of the month, so your first bill, yearly or monthly, is always prorated for the rest of the month. Usually there are no taxes, so the #3.21 was the prorated amount for the rest of the month.

1337 = LEET...? Anywho, if you look around, some people have been around for years. Most people may have signed-up intending to leave later on just to have fun, some will get attached to their sites, others will be able to say goodbye, but no one will know the answer until next year ![]() |

My first dedi has been rock solid. I've had a couple of minor issues that were resolved quickly. There have been no service interruptions to my customers. Now, I just bought #2, along with memory upgrades for both (and a 2nd HD for the new server). The server was provisioned the same day the order was placed. Sweeet. ![]() I would encourage anyone that is thinking about switching to dedi to jump on the next sale (if you can wait). Surpass already has the best prices in town, but the specials are truly amazing. If possible, buy your upgrades upfront, and you'll save serious money in the long run. And, if you want to run something that Surpass won't allow on shared hosting, you can do that too. ![]()

To the people saying they were billed unfairly: when I checked out (with the promotion code), my "receipt" clearly indicated that I used a coupon. This receipt was displayed when I checked out, and a copy was emailed to the address I used to sign up. I would suggest you check for an email receipt, and see if it shows that you used a coupon.
I signed up last-minute two nights ago, I'm still waiting for my login information but I understand the promotion has the admins a bit overwhelmed. I just wanted to say this was a great deal and I'm really excited to put up some new sites soon! |
