Great offer but I think this is not really fair. Offers like this should be announced at least few days before as in my case I registered 2 new shared hosting accounts during this week and today this surprise. I can't believe I spent $120 for something that few days later is priced $2.

Thank you Surpass.

What will the pricing be next year if the current prices go up? The Feb 2006 pricing or future pricing?

.. we announced it as the idea happened. It only came to fruition last night, within about 5 hours from idea to putting up the site. It was originally supposed to be up 2/1.

The current pricing.

And our prices are likely not going up. They have been going slightly down while the space and bandwidth have been the only things to go up.

No. You have to choose the plan you wish to keep the following year.

Some hosts have lots of unfriendly terms and conditions: "Client must keep service contract for 3 years. Or will be attacked by bears."

We were not going to make any official terms, but after seeing some of the questions raised in this thread, looks like we'll have to..

Who thinks that a policy such as the client must keep the account for two years (the $1 year + paid year) is fair - for you and for Surpass?

It's fair if you post the rules before sign up, not after. So this would be more like a 2 for 1. Make it clear before people start signing up, then it's fair for everybody.

I signed up just to have an account for storage of back ups for the year. If it works out, I could keep it longer. And I could also probably use it for an e-commerce site I'm planning on opening sometime in the near future (whenever I can find the time to work on my own projects and not only on my clients' )

If I need to keep the same plan, since it wasn't mentioned before, I'd like to change the plan I signed up to (although I haven't received confirmation yet). It would be good if you could post the rules for the promo somewhere, so this kind of misunderstanding won't happen.

Hello Kayla,
thanks, but honestly this answer doesn't help me getting a better feeling with this. I think I will now cancel the new created services and request a refund. When done, I will create 2 new accounts and save $158.

If I may express my opinion, next time you guys will have a new idea, I suggest to wait at least few days before announce it and then also indicate a starting date. I'm a 1 year customer and I noticed that communication level decreased somehow... or maybe it is just my impression? An example? One of my cPanel accounts got the cPanel skin completely changed while I was working on it and there is no way to get back to the original. Nobody from Surpass informed me about this and this happened an hour ago. What's the deal? Now I must work with the most ugly cPanel skin I've ever seen.

Sorry but I think this is not correct. The overall surpass service is GREAT, but, as today, (at least from my side), I can say it could be better.

Thanks for reading.

ZulloP,

promotions are promotions, they should not be required to be announced. Please don't feel like you are getting ripped off, for the service we offer, packages we offer at the price we offer is the best in the market. We OWN our own data center unlike most companies and when there is issues we have full control and don't rely on 3rd parties.

You can not cancel any existing plan to sign up for a new promo plan. This is prohibited.
