RSS Feed Reader

The most simple way is to use our RSS feeds. With a feed reader, your computer can give you an alert when an update is posted. Some readers will have a pop up or play a sound. Other readers are very complex with many, many options, but you can start out small! You can try different RSS readers and find the one that works the best for you! You'll get hooked on RSS, we promise. Here are some recommendations to start with:

One of the number one feed readers for Mac users is Shrook.

Another simple and no-fail way is RSS + Widgets. A good place to start is with Yahoo's Widget engine as it works with Windows (XP and Vista) and Mac OS X. While Yahoo has nearly 4,000 widgets to choose from, we're focusing (or at least trying to) on the RSS widget. Here it is in action (ok, two of them in action):

Instant Emails : The old stand by!
By being a member of this very forum you can receive email updates easily! Each category of this forum has a subscription feature. The subscription will send you an email immediately when we make a post about a certain web server.

First you need to know what server you are on. If you aren't sure, have a look here to enter your domain name to find your server name, and to read instructions on creating subscriptions:

While not as convenient and "automatic" as RSS feeds, you can still visit our status page on a regular basis to check on our news. There are different sections of the status page and you can find up to the second info on our web servers. **This part of our site is currently undergoing construction. I will update this section again with more info on how to use the status page once complete.**
