4images - In Over My Head - Page 3

OK...I'll assume it's Hispida then. The email I got only listed an IP, and I looked all over the site and forum last night but did not find that IP on the server list. Where did you find it?

So, now that we got the sig out of the way, anyone have any other helpful hints for what went wrong for me with 4images?

OK...I started all over from scratch and I think I got it correctly installed now!

Still, the only info I can see as for how to connect is the PERL script that shows on database screen. I don't know what that info means or how to manage my database now!

Sorry for so many questions, gang, I just didn't bargain for this much complexity and documentation is a little tough to find.

Hmm.
Netgiest, you aren't on Hispida. Hispida does not exist anymore. Were you around when the Hispida/Pico "thing" happened?

We transferred all sites to a new server and named it Pico. Hated to lose such a cool name as Hispida, but that name and server is now retired.

You're on Pico. Pinging your domain will not show .52.. it will show the IP of Pico (x.x56.18)

Pinging is fun. :thumbsup:

Right you are. I got the .52 address from the email I originally received but after doing a ping, I see what you mean.

Thanks to all who helped me with this. I figured out how to fix the problem...I swtched from 4images to Gallery!

Yes, Gallery is the way. One must find their own way to Gallery. We are glad you made it.

The journey continues. I was up until 4am Wednesday working on this. Got the gallery up, got my headers and galleries customized, and today, my whole site is completely, totally gone. The index.html is all that is left of my code, and when I FTP in, my whole gallery is gone.

I am really, really, really frustrated with this whole Surpass experience.

Pico ran into some server troubles a little while back and they had to restore from a server backup. So you're not the only one who had their files dissapearing.
