Ssl Hell!!!!

Hi,

I purchased an SSL Certificate from www.registerfly.com. They asked me to enter CSR. (Im using Cpanel). I am having a problem, figuring out in which order I need to create CSR,KEY, and pasting CRT.
This is my impression

1) Go to Cpanel, SSL Manager....
2) Go to Private Keys(Key)
3) Input my host (www.pbparadise.com)
*** Here is my problem.... In Private Keys manager. There is this caption at the bottom.
***It is recommended that you upload the Certificate (.crt) file first so it can be matched with the Key (.key) file. ***
This completley through me off, because you need to generate a Key to get a CSR, and you need CSR to get a Certficate(CRT).
The only reason im asking this is because I have already bought one and gave to surpasshosting tech admin and they say they that Key and CRT dont match. So I want to sure that CRT,CRS, and Key match this time around.

4) So I need to know what is the EXACT steps I need to follow to get this right. And I have dedicated IP by the way!

1. First you need to login into whm and click on " Generate an SSL Certificate and Signing Request " Input all the information

2. After you fill out the above it will display A. Private RSA Key B. CSR

3. You go to the place which sells the SSL and you give them the CSR

4. they will give you an SSL Cert

5. you go to WHM again and click on " Install an SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain "

6. you put the SSL cert you were given on the top box and the rest it should pre fill in

OR you can just buy it from us for $50.00 and it includes an IP yearly paid

if you buy it elsewhere you will now need to buy a static $24.00/year for resellers

1. Buy a Static (Dedicated) IP from surpass. You MUST have it to be able to use a SSL-certificate.

2. Enter SSL-Manager in cPanel after the IP has been added. Press the Certificate Signing Requests (CSR)

3.Enter all info, press Generate. After you fill out the above it will display A. Private RSA Key B. CSR

4. You go to the place which sells the SSL and you give them the CSR

5. they will give you an SSL Cert

6. Enter SSL-Manager Again. Press Certificates. Paste the crt you got from the SSL-provider in the top box, or choose a .crt-file to upload. (I reccomend pasting it.)
Press Upload. That should be all.

Loosely based on Emmanuels guide for SSL in WHM.

Edit: See Emmanuels post.. He did it for me first time i needed one. I didn't manage to do it by myself. hehe. Greatly appreciated that help

Check these two at that page:

• StarterSSL - Generate a CSR
• StarterSSL - Install a Certificate

There you find guides for howto install a SSL in cPanel.

Hi well I spoke to Aroop..I had provided him all my info CSR, Private key, and I sent him certificate, and also put certificate on PUBLIC_HTML and i named it CRTKEY 3-06-05.. My
website is www.pbparadise.com. I had orignally a certificate on site but it was self signed and it wasn't trusted by any browser..And Aroop said it wasn't matching with key..So I got new cert and key and sent to Aroop. This time its all matching and valid and not self signed. But i still haven't received message from Aroop all day, and this SSL drama has been going on for almost a week. I have a dedicated IP also. So I just awaiting my new key and cert installed. Thanks Tom

O and my email is tcruz04[at]gmail.com

I just read through your tickets

All you have to do is pay $85.00 and we can get you an SSL which will work correctly and we assure you it will work or we will refund you in full.
