IP deny
How do you enter a block of ip's? I tried doing it like this 69.160.0.0 - 69.175.255.255 and it said no such addy, There has to be a way to block all of them w/o entering them one by one.

How about blocking a whole site? For exapmple my space .com They hotlink vidoes all the time from people. it's the way their blogs are set up. I have no way of knowing all the ip's from my space.

you can block a site by putting it into cpanel. it will resolve the ip. however, that doesn't seem to work out too well sometimes. i had content being hotlinking out to fusker and the only way to keep them from doing it was to just move it (or in my case, delete it since it was old anyway)

Yeah, I just entered in "myspace.com" and it took it but I still have people hotlinking like mad from there. I end up disabling some videos but then they just go and find another one, even though I send them messages asking them politley not to or just removing the video. I have tried all kinds of things to stop hot linking and nothing works. After reading messages on the board looks like I am not the only one. oh well

I found some people hotlinking videos from me this morning. All I did was turn on hotlink protection and added wmv & zip to the file types. I went back to their site and clicked on one of my videos and I got the "forbidden" message.

I wish I was that lucky, that never works for me. I have tried everything and stil have people hotlinking like mad from me.
Today I was looking at my awstats, and I see mpegs and mp3's being hotlinked but I cant find who it is. sometimes it just says myspace but not the user. If I am lucky it will. I can go into analog and I have gotten a few that way but still many dont show up. Is there any other way to trace these people who do this? |
