Xoops is great, it just seems to make sense to me, I got lost with Mambo
I use it on dariusmusic.net I'd be happy to help anyone if they don't know how to do something. |

I'm working on a fansite for a certain television show which shall remain nameless and I want to use a CMS.
Given that there's a level of support here for them I want to use either Xoops or Mambo but I can't choose. Mambo's site does a better job of selling itself but the modules are hard to find, Xoops doesn't seem to even try selling itself but there's a whole bunch of modules so I'm kinda stuck. So what would you guys recommend and why? I need it to have a news blog, a forum and an image gallery as a minimum. I'd also like to be able to have a fanlisting (http://thefanlistings.org) type element where people could join a fanclub. Also, I'm pretty good with coding and I want to be able to make a template that won't be limited by default appearances. Are both systems completely editable? I mean, I know for some things it might be necessary to edit the code itself but that I can do. Mainly, and this may sound a little strange, I don't want it to look like it uses a CMS. I'm not trying to hide the fact that it does, I just want it to have my style of doing things rather than theirs. Can you help me out folks? Peaches, Niu who used to be on Surpass along time ago and has recently come back. I missed you guys. |
