Yes, AUTO FTP uploading is unreliable.

Well, if you like spending hours troubleshooting, go ahead.
Thanks so much. :worship:

I almost have this working per your instructions. It worked just as you said.

I have everything upgraded and changed over.

I am only having one small difficulty left. There is a folder that resides within my 'courses' directory that requires write access. It is used for users to upload pictures, etc. I have been trying to change the permissions to allow for 0770 access. It reverts back to 0755 as soon as I change it. Any ideas?

Well I managed to get around the 'not being able to set Permissions problem'. I deleted the file that I kept getting its permissions reset after I would set them to 0777 access. I then copied the file of the same name from my backed-up directory that already had the 0777 file permissions into the new directory. It managed to keep these permissions after it was moved...go figure!

Anyway, everything appears to be working fine now. Did I mention that I was eternally grateful for your help? :worship:

P.S. Although the problem has been resolved, I am still a little confused as to why the file would keep resetting the permissions each time I would change them? I suppose I'll leave that question for another time.

There indeed seems to be an issue with cPanel showing a different permission than what is set. You can verify this by using an FTP manager or SSH to view the setting. There are other posts about it.

We tend to live with it. Like I tend to live with my anger problems. :cen: :fightin:

Email cPanel Kris about it.

Yeah, I have had nothing but frustration with Cpanel and setting permissions in certain instances. That's why I like to do it like snide recommends, FTP mainly. Glad you got everything up and working.. Happy webbing..
