AccountLab Plus has many features beyond setting up accounts. It has built-in whois lookups, hooks into various registrars to register domains, works with multiple payment options, and sets up accounts.

It appears that the tool you listed does one thing: automatically set up an account. That's the one feature I don't want.

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.

Val,

Never heard anything more. I've got about 7 sites that I need to take care of before I get to my own, so I'm not sweating it yet. Worst case is $25/yr for a single domain license.

I figured I'd try playing with it first and see how hard it is to incorporate it into my site and see how well it works. Then I can worry about the cost.

John

Mine is now outdated. I don't know if that's because of the server move or not, but I have to manually update it...which means I have to buy it. Poop.

But perhaps we can install it one server and move a few of you over. Let me see what I can do.
hey Kayla.
Did you ever find out if it might be possibly for this to be on one reseller server for those of us that were asking about it to move to?
Accountlab just upgraded and it looks very good.
Thanks.

That's right at one point I seem to recall reading a post by you that said you were going to write one. Let us know when you're done.
Right now I'm using Access and Excel and Outlook. High tech stuff I use huh? LOL.

here's the new features for accountlab 2.5
New features (visible on order page):
- Complete re-invention of the order page. An order is now made in multiple steps (due to popular demand).
- Added Categories. Examples for categories: "Servers", "Shared Hosting"
- You can redirect your customers to a category-specific order page (index.php?group=1 will show only servers, index.php?group=2 will show shared hosting etc)
- When ordering, all details of a product will show up when selecting it from the dropdown list.
- Addons billing cycle will sync with base product billing cycle.
- Added a box on order page with currently running specials.
- Cleaned up the "new customer sign up" page.
New features (admin):
- Created a "Products" top level menu where you can define categories, products (plans, servers etc), subdomains and order add-ons.
- Renamed "Hosting Plans" to "Products".
- You can now offer Products that do or do not require a domain name.
- Products can be hidden (create hosting plans that do not show up in the order page).
- Added IP Location information. You can use the free hostip.info service, the free maxmind.com database or the directi database. Hostip.info queries are made online, the latter two require donwload of a csv file (Settings -> IP Location). The IP Location information will be displayed on the "view order" page.
- Added prefix and suffix for orders and invoices. Note: changing these values affects also existing orders and invoices (Settings -> Configuration)
- Added "Start from number #" for orders and invoices (Settings -> Configuration)
- Added a country list to select a country where your tax applies to. You may also select "Apply tax to all locations" in which case the tax will always be added (Settings -> Tax)
- You can define Page Title and Meta Tags (Settings -> Configuration)
- Important data like Credit Card info and hosting account passwords is now stored encrypted
- You can "Import Package" (hosting plans) from your servers which will auto-create associated Products in AccountLab Plus
- PayPal Subscriptions payment method (Beta)
- Credit Card payment method (you need a merchant account to process credit cards). All credit card data is stored encrypted in the database. The credit card payment method does not perform a validity check (yet).
