Redirecting a Subdomain to Dir. Within Subdomain

I was setting up my Coppermine Gallery and I decided to create a subdomain for it, i.e. gallery.continuu.net.

I did it in Cpanel, but when I typed in the URL (try it yourself) an error comes up to me and says that:

Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. The Page can not be loaded. This may be caused by blocked cookies.

Any idea what that means?

I don't think you did the redirect right. It's looping.

edit: I'm trying to get a screenshot of what it's looping to and coming back from, but I can't. It's moving too fast. something like continuu.net/cpg133

Right, I want it to point to or redirect to continuu.net/cpg133

Is that pointing or redirecting? Maybe I'm getting my terms confused.

Well, one problem is that doesn't exist. If you go directory to that url (continuu.net/cpg133) than you don't get anything. Check and make sure your path is correct.

Er, I meant I want it to point to gallery.continuu.net/cpg133

So http://gallery.continuu.net would go to http://gallery.continuu.net/cpg133

First, you have to install the gallery into a folder, like cpg133. I would suggest installing it to "http://www.continuu.net/gallery" instead of cpg133. This just looks better that way, since it is a gallery after all. No sense using the version name and number when you could make it easier on your guest to remember.

Then, do the redirect via subdomains with cpanel. I'd explain exactly how, but I'm on Pass5 and can't get to cpanel at the moment. You are basically going to point the subdomain to that url though (http://www.continuu.net/gallery).

edit: Otherwise, if it's pointing to something like something.sitename.com/folder, than I think it's getting confused.

Ah okay. I had already installed the gallery into the subdomain. Then I realized that the index for the subdomain wasn't the gallery, it was a holder. But I guess I'll have to re-install elsewhere.

Thank you for the very fast support though!
