Anyone using a Firewall software and FireFox browser to access cPanel?
I've got: FireFox and Zone Alarm Pro. If I use IE and access the cPanel page, it's fast (normal speed). If I turn off Zone Alarm and use Firefox to access cPanel, it is fast (normal). But if I have Zone Alarm on, and use FireFox, cPanel is ridiculously slow (most or all icons wont even show up, *if* I even get to the cPanel screen). Any ideas? I cannot find what setting to change to get cPanel to show up at a normal speed using FireFox. (trying to avoid IE).... :-) thanks for any help.

Forget my question it is not you!
I tested Firefox 1.0.6 and Mozilla 1.7.10 and both very slow and do not properly render the images with ZAP. Not sure why from here or if it is the Firewall or browsers at fault.

If you turn off Zone Alarm, Firefox will be as speedy as IE.
I'm glad it's not just me.. :-) Just wondering if anyone has figured out the setting within ZoneAlarm that "fixes" that issue.

Yea it is likely some bug with ZAP not liking something with the MOZ browsers.
I gave up on them and Netscape awhile back. I was always running into such or being asked for some plugin to be installed. IE may be patchware lol but it always works when I need it. You might find a answer to this in the Zone Labs User Forum forums.zonelabs.com/zonelabs

Zonealarm Pro interferes with cPanel
Currently having this problem with ZAP 6.5.737.0 and Mozilla. It appears there is no good fix, except to disable ZAP's privacy settings entirely. That means no ad-blocking, no cookie-blocking, no mobile-code blocking (although I'm not certain about that last one, since mine is turned off anyway).
Apparently ZAP inserts a script in displayed pages that work with its privacy settings. But that script intereferes in some unknown way (to me at least) with cPanel loading. There have been a number of fixes suggested: listing domain as trusted, listing domain exception, even a filter for loopbacks. None of them worked for me. cPanel does not load with ZAP privacy settings in Mozilla. IE does work correctly. |

Update: Was using an older version of Mozilla 1.7.8, installed newer version. Now using SeaMonkey 1.0.5 (it's like the 1.8 version of Mozilla, but they renamed the project).
I am not getting the load errors I had previously. |
