AwStats for Addon Domain

Hi. I'm trying to figure out how to get awstats to report statistics for an add-on domain that I have. Apparently, the subdomain stats only reports the stats for accessing the subdomain URL and won't register anything hits from the domain. Any ideas? Thanks.

When you click on Web/FTP Stats, one of the links says "Subdomain Stats" - click that and you should see a heading for Awstats and the subdomain(s) under that.

Yet, I got that. But what I'm trying to say is that Awstats reports the stats for the subdomain fine and only the subdomain. It does not give me the stats for anyone accessing the site using the addon address.

I understood what you said perfectly. And as I said, you have to use the subdomain link to view the stats of the addon - because that's what an addon is, a subdomain that's redirecting a domain URL. When you go into that menu you should see the associated subdomain for your addon.

Yes, I know. My point is, however, that the stats for the associated subdomain only show the stats for visitors accessing the subdomain (ie, subdomain.domain.com) and won't show anything in relation to the addon domain, when used (ie, www.addon.com).

I will say it again. The subdomain awstats link is showing you the stats for the addon domain. Trust me. You're seeing accurate stats for it - it only is linked through the subdomain because that is what it is.

I'm fairly positive this is so because my website is an addon and I'm quite sure that 3,000 unique visits didn't occur at a subdomain that I've never given out. The links you're seeing are based on what the server considers the link to be, not the redirection that occurs when you visit the site.

That would be strange then. After I activated the add-on, the stats showed no visitor activity whatsoever for me...

I'd contact support then because that probably means your Awstats are a little flakey.

Sorry I didn't see this reply for, like, a week.
