Yeah, when I used Xoops for my main site, I just made the same basic page I have on my reseller now, but put it in TinyContent (which has become, as John pointed out, TinyD).
Modules are usually uploaded to the module folder. But make sure you upload it correctly. Say you want to upload one. You unzip it on your hard drive and upload the folder with all the content and other folders in it, into the modules directory. Name one you downloaded, and I can probably explain a little better. |

Try the more updated one.
http://www.peak.ne.jp/support/xoops/piCal-0.8.tar.gz Once you download and unzip the file, you should have two folders: Common and Modules. Not many come packaged with more than one folder like that, but all you have to do is upload both of these to the root. Just upload common to the root directory of xoops (where the uploads, cache, template_c, and other folders are...not in them, but to the same location they are). Then just upload what's in the modules folder (a folder called piCal) into the module folder on your site. After that, just go to the modules section and install it. |

I'm in file manager, I see the xoops folder, but no folder that says modules, also none for templates (interested in using one of those too).
I'm sorry, I am afraid I am being a huge pita. Thanks. |

It's easier if you use an ftp program for this, because you'll be uploading a folder full of stuff. There should be a list of folders like Cache, Templates_C, Themes, Uploads, and several others.

I am going to sleep on this and try again tomorrow. The folders didn't look like you described but I tried it anyway. I thought I uploaded it to the right place with file manager, but I don't see it inside of xoops admin to install. I'm so confused.

[quote=David]Your blocks on the top page that aren't viewable on the Faqs page may only be set to "Top page". If you click "edit" next to the block, it will give you a list of areas it will show in.
QUOTE] Ok. I found what you mean. I have a related question. How would I get certain blocks to appear to all visitors, both registered and anonymous? For example, on the top page I'd like everyone to be able to see the content I'll be putting there, example news, weather and such, not just registered users. |
