XOOPS : XOOPS 2.2.3 Released

From xoops.org:

The XOOPS Core Development Team is happy to release XOOPS 2.2.3 with several bugfixes to central areas of the system.

At the same time, it gives me great pleasure to announce the release of XOOPS Official Module Packages version 1.0

The modules in these packages are tested with XOOPS 2.2 and are functional. There may be parts of some of the modules that don't work, but they are usable for generating content.

As module developments proceed, these packages will naturally be updated with new versions and/or replacement modules.

Read all about it and download it from here.

Happy Xoopsing!

John

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.

They do appear to be a busy bunch, don't they.

Between adding features, fixing bugs, and resolving security issues, it is a bit of a moving target. However, I can't think of any of those things that I would want them to slow down on, especially since updating to the latest version is typically a trivial matter (though taking a backup first is still a good idea ).

It appears that there are some issues with the newly released xoops 2.2.3. There are quick fixes available while the official fix is being put together by the Xoops Core Team, but unless you feel comfortable with patching code, my suggestion would be to wait until the fixes are released as a new package.

Boy am I glad I didn't "upgrade" my sites. I tried it on test sites, didn't like it at all and then watched all the drama and problems other people were having. I'll wait until the smoke clears..
