UPDATE NOW! or so it says.

When I go into Fantastico, it tells me I have an out of date installation of phpBB. There's a link to update it. Thing of it is, I updated it a while back

It says the installed verison if 2.0.11 when I manually updated it to 2.0.16.

How can I get Fantastico to stop telling me to update?

That's because you did a manual upgrade, Fantastico only recognizes it's own installations and upgrades. (Which is why it's always best to do manual installs and upgrades.)

I realize that is why it says that. I would like for it to stop. Just a minor annoyance. I'll remove it and install it by hand if that's what it takes.

I think if you just delete the fantastico files in the phpbb install that'll clear it up for you (and in the fantastico folder in the homedir...but I wouldn't know for sure, I've never used fanastico.

Thank you. I forgot Fantastico actually places files IN the installation.

I just edited the version in the fantversion.php file and the "UPDATE NOW" message went away.

How are the versions checked like when you guys went looking for older phpBB installations?

I'm guessing you guys did not use the information in the fantversion.php, correct?
