Yep. That would be the one.

I decided to not use any of his modules, because he has his name and links to his website in the module output (not just in the code) and makes it a condition of using his modules. I don't mind giving credit where credit is due, but I think having it in the code and perhaps on a common credit/thank you page should be sufficient.

At the time, I was looking for a calendar for my church website. His site at the time had random pics that included topless women. I could just see someone clicking on the link in his calendar and going to that.

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.

Thought so. I use Freecontent sometimes, but only on one site. I probably won't use it on it this time around though because I can't get the damn thing to work lol

But yeah, I hate having to leave links around all over the pages. I mean, I might as well use a bunch of random scripts if I wanted to do that. Like you, I don't mind giving credit, but it looks kind of tacky when it's all over every page like that. It's why I decided that if I did make a module, I wouldn't do that. I wish I could find a good alternative to myalbum that didn't have the links and stuff at the bottom of the pages. I'm almost ready to leave xoops out of it because...well, I actually don't need xoops for the site (my Linda Vester site). Most of it is static content anyway.

The only good part of this story is that is how I found Surpass.
I am not so sure about Surpass after what's been going on with my email accounts recently. Surpass is currently on a short list I have entitled "If they screw up just once more, I'm off"

Your warning is taken in the spirit in which it was intended. It's a scary story. Personally, I don't have to try to be a jerk, it just comes naturally to me.

Me either. Just seemed appropriate.

Don't know what's going on there, but I hope you get it working. I guess I've been with about a half dozen hosts over the years, and so far Surpass has been the best by far for me.

Glad to hear that. I don't try to be a jerk either, but sometimes things in print can come across differently than intended.
