Hi, just wondering how much somebody might charge for making a basic theme for Xoops. I am pretty sure I am going to do this next website I have to build using Xoops, and I am just really bad at the actual design of a site (colors, etc). It is for a Sheriff's office. Teller County Sheriff's Office (Colorado). I don't know what their current site is now but it is just really no good, so I am doing it. I don't need the whole site made, jyst a nice theme for Xoops...

If you can make a simple mockup in html of atleast what you're going for I might be able to help you out. I'm currently dumping my brain into the VB themeing system and trying to hammer out a bunch of invalid code, but I can probably throw this in as well.

It'll only run you Eleventy Billion Dollars, or nothing if it's not too complex.

Well Dew their site does look a bit generally basic. Xoops sure could spruce it up. Way beyond my ability though.

I like Xoops but could never get my head wrapped around it enough to use it for anything. lol

And that Sheriff reminds of of a fella I was in the Navy with but that was not the guys name.

David: That is my problem... I would make an html layout of what I thik I wanted, but I am afraid it would just turn out looking really bad.... And I am willing to pay for this (At least me work is, if it doesn't cost that much)

You might want to look at some of the xoops themes sites. There are several hundred themes out there that can be had for free. Most of them wouldn't be appropriate for what you are looking for, but I'm sure there are a number of them that would either work as is or with a few modifications.

Much easier to start with a theme that's almost what you want than to try starting from scratch.

There are a couple of sites that are basically intended to show the available themes. I'll see if I can dig up some urls for you. Would have been easy if xoops.org was back online, but I can probably come up with something anyway.

Well, that's why I said a basic idea. Colors and things can always be changed, but atleast this way I'd be able to look at something rather than try to figure out what you're wanting in my head.

Neither site is in English, but since the purpose is to look at themes, it doesn't really matter.

The first site has 418 themes to look at, the second site has 168.

The names of the themes are in English, so if you find something you like, just make a note of the name, and we'll help you find it. I don't believe these site offer downloads for the themes, but other sites will.

Thank you both of you. I will see if I can find a free theme that will work. If not.. I might be back with a page of colors and lines
