Xoops.org is back online

Yay!!

There is also a security update available. Note that this update is not related to the problems that cause xoops.org to go offline, but should be applied as soon as possible all the same.

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.

XOOPS 2.2.3 Final Released

I'm downloading now. Will upload and setup later in the week to look over. But may wait 2-3 days to see if bug reports or other problems arise and are posted in their forum first. Bugs have nailed me twice in the past now. Will try not to run into strike 3!

I think I'll be downloading 2.0.13.2 myself. I don't even want strike 1.

I will install 2.2.3 on a test site to play with, but it'll be awhile before I would even consider using it for production (if ever), especially since it was stated that 2.4 will actually be built on top of 2.0.13 instead of 2.2.3. As long as 2.0.x is supported, I'll probably stay there until 2.4 has been put through its paces.

Yea I'm just getting it to play with. See what it can do.
So far I just have not had the desire to make something permanent with Xoops. Maybe when 2.4 gets here.

But looking at other CMS options too.

Let me know if you find something that tickles your fancy. Xoops was the first one that made sense to me, and I stayed with it. Since I'm not married to it, looking couldn't be considered cheating.

Or time to try 2.0.13.2. I've told you since the first post that 2.2 was not the place to cut your teeth on xoops. It's going to have its problems, though as they progress, the problems should be fewer and fewer.

2.0.13.2 has stood the test of time. For me (and many others), it just works. As I have suggested before, this would be the place for you to start, and then after you have achieved a certain comfort level and want to play, 2.2.x will be waiting for you.

Personally, unless there is a feature in 2.2.x that I have to have, I will probably hold off for 2.4 myself, as 2.0.x works so well for me.

Give it a try. I think you'll like it.
