Inivision Power Board Disabled?

I'm wondering why Invision Power Board has been disabled in Cpanel. My plans were to transfer my PHPBB Forum to a new Inivision Power Board. Why is IPB not able to Install in Fantastico? Anyone know where I can download it for free? I already tried the InivisionPower website.

It was taken out of Fantastico because you need to purchase a license to run IPB. You can obtain both the license and the software from the Invision site - http://invisionpower.com.

IPB stopped being free quite a while ago. It is now Payware only.

Personally, SMF is one of the last boards I'd ever use. It has nice features, but it's admin section is too complex and skinning it is no where as easy as it should be. Invision is my board of choice, but Punbb is what I go with when I want a free one.

to complex... damn...

it is simple to use.. I have no problems using it or modifying templates to serve my needs..

I find I would not use phpbb or invision, or YaBB (cgi based). I have used them all, I find that they are good for basic people, but when I need to be able to do something serious.. it can get the job done.

but then again, if simple works for you, and its all you are needing, by all means. I am just suggesting what I happen to like to use, as I find is covers all the bases I need.

Heh, you're the first person I've ever heard say Invison was simple lol...usually it's others complaining to me about how it's too complex haha

The newer versions of Invision are a lot easier to maintain, but it's still too complex for me.

I'm currently admining both an IPB and a vB and I have to say they're both kind of confusing at first. I think the thing that throws me is a lot of stuff is hidden in OTHER options, so I hunt for one thing and have to look through everything to get to it. -_-

Never used SMF or punbb, but I'll just say stay as far away from phpBB as you can get - that thing is just. Ugh.
