Unhappy Cronjob and Raw Access Logs

crawling all over the forum, it seems to me that awstats reads raw access logs to display data over time. however, the downloaded raw access logs only seem to have records for current day.

is it possible to set up cronjob for downloading of raw access logs? after that, how do i view the data in awstats?

i read somewhere in surmunity that can download awstats and install on MY COMPUTER, but does that mean i have to download PERL as well, isn't that a very big overhead just for this?

Is there any other programs running on Windows to read access logs? searching download.com doesn't seem to return anything useful.

Any help is appreciated, this is quite urgent.
