firefox and safari problem with links
Hi!
Can you guys please help me? The site is www.cartenterprises.com, and the part in question is directly under the header logo. All seems to work correctly in IE and Opera. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what I've done wrong in the css (that's where I've been playing since I put this theme in) to cause my neat little rollovery links to not work correctly in firefox and safari? All of the links end up on the left side of the screen, which makes them not very easy to use. Damned anti social things, not wanting to be clicked... Thanks. |

I first want to add that it doesn't seem to be working quite right in Opera 9 TP2. It's not showing the submenu at all! When I mask as IE, it works fine... I think you can probably drop the sniffing for Opera.
Spoofing in Firefox just didn't work, so we can verify it's not handling the code or a function. The bad part is the code is very awkward and hard to read without proper tabulation and some instances where braces aren't used. I've never done position by the position of the mouse, so I can't really help in this aspect, but I recommend you focus on that area of the code. Just strange that verticle works and horizontal doesn't. If I get the time to actually try playing with the code, I'll post back with more findings. |

Re: firefox and safari problem with links
Val,
Are you writing this menu yourself from scratch, or is it one you downloaded and modified? You may want to check around, as there are a lot of menus like the one you've got that can be downloaded and customized. Usually the biggest feature of these menus is the crossbrowser support. Apparently, it's quite a feat to get them to work across all of the popular browsers. I think it's more of a javascript issue than a css issue, though it could be a little bit of both. Unless you have a passion for undertaking it yourself, you may want to let someone else do the hard part. ![]() I have an old site that uses a similar menu if you want to check it out (be warned, the site is falling apart and is actually being redesigned now). Back when I put the site together, I bought the menu script, but many just like it are now available for free. You can see it at www.dconline.org. John

Re: firefox and safari problem with links
But Val, you need special links. Not simple.
