Update Awstats
Hi,
I remember awstats used to have a link saying "update now", however this seems to have disappeared? So how do i update the web statistics? I've tried doing it as a cron job but didn't seem to work. Any ideas? Cheers, Dan

Re: Update Awstats
OK, should have used the search feature first. I now know why.
My stats haven't updated since the 8th of february, which is useless! May as well not have them at all. This isn't very good surpass!

Re: Update Awstats
Stats are supposed to automatically update every day. If they are not updating, then you should send in a support ticket, something may need to be restarted.

Re: Update Awstats
When sites have a very large amount of files and data to be updated, this causes problems on the server when those account holders update the stats at any time they want, not knowing the problem they are creating. It may be frustrating to not see the newest stats, but it would be more frustrating to be on a server with random slowdowns and time outs..
The stats program runs on a cron of course and is supposed to go through and update all sites each day. AWStats really seems to have problems updating (while remaining stable) very large sites and there are a few on every server.. If the program detects that the server is not stable enough anymore after it starts trying to pack up the stats for that certain large account, it sometimes stops and does not update all of the sites after that one. We've never had this problem with other stat programs.. This is when updating it yourself can be very useful.. but as I said before, we can't allow that on most servers. I am checking out Pass8 to see what is holding up the stats on this server from being ran. |
