Hi Molly and welcome to Surpass! In the file manager, click on public_html. This is the folder where all your publicly-accessible files are located and that is where you will find index.html. (By the way, if you click on the name of files or folders in the File Manager, that allows you to modify their properties; to open a folder, you need to click on the folder's icon.)
Good luck with your new web site!

How are you changing the page? Are you doing this directly in the cPanel file manager or have you created a page using a program? As you your web site grows, you will definitely want to consider using an FTP program to upload pages. However, if you want to use the File Manager for now, after you finish editing it (you need to click on "index.html" then click "edit" from the options that appear at right - not sure if you're doing this), don't forget to SAVE your changes. Then your site shoud update.
